This intervention seeks to facilitate the conversation about sexuality within families in collaboration with six local partner schools in Cali, Popayan, and rural areas of Cajibío outside of Popayán in Colombia.
Caretakers of students from 6th to 11th grade, alongside the teens, from each partner school will be invited to participate in activities and games where different S&RHR will be discussed.
New material will be created, as well as a new game that will be gifted to the schools. It is expected for 1,470 students, 2,100 caretakers and 50 teachers to participate.
Teachers, administrative staff, students, and parents have all communicated a need and desire to discuss sexual and reproductive health rights (S&RHR) with families. This is especially important in a country with socio-economic inequality, gender inequality, violence towards women, and unplanned teen pregnancies.
